The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a groundbreaking subcutaneous Hyaluronic Acid moisturising treatment that has redefined anti-ageing. Profhilo is an injectable gel, designed to trigger collagen and elastin production beneath the skin through the gradual release of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Unlike conventional anti-ageing injectables that employ fillers to add volume and stretch the skin, Profhilo utilises Hyaluronic Acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, in the mid-dermis to hydrate, firm and regenerate new, more youthful skin cells.
This approach effectively reverses the ageing process at a cellular level, stimulating the creation of fresh collagen and elastin cells. The result is a remarkable improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, offering a firmer and more youthful facial complexion.
Profhilo operates as a hydrating and subtly plumping treatment, making it an excellent choice for those dealing with tired, lacklustre, and ageing skin. The benefits extend to numerous signs of ageing across the face, neck, chest and hands, including:
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Crow’s feet and laughter lines
- Sagging skin
- Smoking-related lines
- Loose skin on the face, neck and décolleté
- Laxity in the hands
- Dull and dehydrated skin
- Skin with a loss of volume.
Profhilo® Treatment
How Profhilo Works
Hyaluronic Acid is precisely injected into the treatment areas. Once introduced into the skin, it begins attracting water in the deeper skin layers. Profhilo, as a stabilised product, has a longer-lasting effect on dermal cells, compared to non-stabilised gels. During this period, it promotes the production of four different types of collagen and elastin through the gradual release of hyaluronic acid, leading to substantial tissue enhancement and a tightening/lifting effect on the skin.
What Makes Profhilo Different?
Unlike other anti-ageing injectables that rely on fillers, Profhilo’s Hyaluronic Acid disperses evenly throughout the skin once injected. This results in visible effects throughout the entire face, offering a more even and natural result, without changing the facial features.
The Treatment Process
Consultation
Begin your Skin Booster journey with a consultation. We’ll discuss your desired outcomes and ensure your suitability for Profhilo treatment. We’ll talk through the process, collaborating with you to establish a personalised treatment plan. If you’re satisfied with your treatment plan, your Profhilo appointment can then be scheduled or the treatment may be carried out straight away.
Before Your Treatment
In preparation for your treatment, avoid blood thinners and anti-inflammatories for at least a day beforehand to reduce the risk of bruising. It’s also advisable to refrain from alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
During Your Treatment
Numbing cream can be applied as needed to ensure your comfort during the procedure. The treatment areas are carefully marked out and then injected with Profhilo using a fine needle. Although some may experience mild discomfort, most find it easily tolerable, particularly with the use of numbing cream. The entire process typically takes less than 30 minutes and requires no recovery time, allowing you to return to your routine immediately.
After Your Treatment
Post-treatment, there may be some mild swelling or bruising, which typically subsides within a few days, leaving you with a plump and youthful appearance. Avoid touching the treated area and engaging in intense exercise for the first 24 hours to avoid disturbing the Profhilo. Adequate hydration is crucial for best results, as water is attracted to Hyaluronic Acid, so if you’re dehydrated, there is nothing for it to attract. The effects of Profhilo vary among individuals, but it generally lasts around six months, with optimal results ranging from three to eighteen months. Maintaining adequate hydration and having a consistent anti-ageing skincare regime will optimise results and longevity.
